August HIKE AND LEARN, Temescal canyon

The Temescal Canyon Waterfall trail rewards both avid and armature hikers. A light 1/2 mile stroll to the waterfall and bridge reveals some of California's best native offerings, including California Fuchsias, Sticky Monkey Flowers, and Maiden Hair Ferns. Curious hikers continue an additional 2.5 miles on steeper terrain to view new plant communities, as well as ocean and city views at the trail's crest. Throughout the hike, Cassy and Kirk Aoyagi provide insights about the microclimates and native foliage along the trail.
