Gardens of the World Palettes

5 drought tolerant palettes for thriving LA gardens, rain or shine

While LA does, at times, have periods of drought that will whither English and tropical gardens, we do not live in a desert.  Our Mediterranean climate is much milder, wetter and cooler than that.  The FormLA Landscaping designed and installed drought tolerant Gardens of the World at La Canada Public Library feature non-invasive foliage from the five regions of the world with a similar climate: Australia, California, Chile, the Mediterranean Basin and South Africa.

While there are distinctive advantages to using California natives, each of these plant palettes will weather Los Angeles’ natural weather, rain or shine.
