Job Description

The FormLA Landscaping installation division manager serves as a client liaison and project manager throughout the landscape construction and installation process.

In this role, you will:

Direct the Division

  • Set ambitious goals for division performance and track against them throughout the year
  • Think long-term, planning out your team’s activities for weeks in advance
  • Work with both the design and estimating teams to oversee multiple projects
  • Coordinate fleet upkeep and safety
  • Collaborate with Other Divisions
  • Set effective, realistic expectations with the design team
  • Coordinate between the client, the construction team, designers and maintenance division leads
  • Improve efficiencies through feedback to budgeting and construction teams

    Manage Projects

  • Expedite client requests
  • Create a working plan to keep projects on time and on budget
  • Verify information in the field matches plans and requirements for executing jobs
  • Alert design and budget teams of on site changes or conditions not reflected in blueprints
  • Update field staff and foremen of plan updates and document instructions
  • Visit active job sites on a daily basis to track progress
  • Oversee procurement of materials and supplies from approved vendors
  • Maintain strict adherence to established schedules and budgets
  • Prepare, coordinate and conduct management meetings

    Lead Your Team

  • Continue to build and retain our team of distinctively skilled craftsman and horticulturalists
  • Select, orient, train, assign, schedule, coach, counsel, develop, evaluate and inspire team members
  • Communicate job expectations and inspire adherence to policies and procedures
  • Train, guide and empower forman and team members to resolve daily challenges
  • Track and manage team attendance, safe equipment use, proper appearance and reporting of hours via time cards
  • Provide guidance and support to help team members construct a career path where they will be happy and motivated in an ongoing way
  •  
    You likely have:

  • Several years of supervisory experience in the landscape or construction industry
  • A minimum of 5 years of prior customer service, management, and leadership experience within a similar organization
  • A track record of bringing in projects on time and on budget
  • A commitment to sustainable construction practices
  •  
    It would be ideal if you also have:

  • An education in landscape, horticulture, business related field or equivalent experience
  • Certification in SITEs or LEED building practices
  • An understanding of California native plant installation
  • The ability to coach, recruit, retain and develop teams

    • Work Authorization: US  (Required)
    • Experience: Construction: 2 years (Preferred), Management: 1 year (Preferred)
    • Languages: English (Preferred)and Spanish (Preferred)
    • Licenses: California Driver’s License (Preferred), California Native Plant Landscapers Certification (Preferred)

    • Schedule: Self-Directed 8-10 hour shifts, Monday to Friday (No Weekends)
    • Pay: $65,000-95,000 Annually
    • Supplemental Pay: Overtime, Bonus Pay, Signing Bonus
