VALUED CUSTOMERS & FRIENDS+

This time of year is so exciting! Not only are gardens at their super-blooming best, we get to spend time with so many of you!

We’ve had so much fun working alongside the Wood, Weiss, Taylor, Schumacher, Joyce, and Carlson families to prepare for spring tours. We find as much joy in growing our friendships with you as we have in growing your gardens. Thank you for all the love you’ve infused into this effort.

Cheers to you and all the beauty we get to share together!

Sincerely,
Cassy and Kirk

SUSTAINABLE TIPS+

For the first year in oh-so-many, we had a true LA rainy season. As a result, our spring will be full of both tricks and treats.

Blooming Now

Abundant rainfall means that our normal bounty of spring blooms will be even more boisterous. In areas that experienced fire, we can also expect to see rare treats.

If you are looking for a moment-to-moment guide to the LA-area Super Bloom, check Theodore Payne Foundation’s Wildflower Hotline. Prepare your plant-ID skills with our visual guide to all that is Blooming Now in LA!

Sustain Your Garden

Just as rain boosts the boom of the blooms we yearn to see, it will also exacerbate the growth of weeds and dangerous invasive grasses. Maintenance will be key to keeping your garden fire-wise and at its best.

Check our Spring Maintenance Checklist for our month-by-month to-dos.

Happy Anniversary Sunland!

It seems like just yesterday Roger Klemm inspired Sunland-Tujunga to rip out invasive Fountain Grass to make way for a native paradise. Yet, Roger has been at it for years now!

Roger’s work has completely transformed the entrance to our community and inspired so much change beyond it. If you get a chance, check out Latest Developments.

You’ve done something spectacular – happy anniversary Roger!

Fire-Resilience Presentations

Cassy Aoyagi presented the tenets of fire-wise landscapes to SoCal Edison executives and staff members.

She also led a tour at Rosemont Preserve, highlighting the ways in which the renovated space protects the community from fire and slides.
