Join Ben Stapleton, executive director, USGBC-LA and Cassy Aoyagi as they share the ways in which California’s green building community can inspire adoption of fire mitigation practices. In speaking with the California Board of Forestry and Fire Protection, they’ll highlight programs designed to generate awareness of firewise planning, development, architecture, building, landscape and property maintenance practices.

The presentation is part of a public meeting, and the board encourages public comments and questions related to this presentation and other agenda items. The full meeting will be recorded, and the audio will be published on the board’s website.

The California Board of Forestry and Fire Protection is a government-appointed body within the Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. It is responsible for developing the general forest policy of the state, determining the guidance policies of the department, and representing the state’s interest in federal forestland in California. Together, the board and the department work to carry out the California Legislature’s mandate to protect and enhance the state’s unique forest and wildland resources.
