This Talk and Walk curriculum is part of a four course series hosted by Descanso Gardens.  Each course begins at Descanso Gardens with classroom work applied to the New Look for L.A. Center Circle Garden.  Register for a single course or for the full series.


January 16, 2016 – L.A.’s Unique Outdoor Water Management
Even in drought, Los Angeles can have slide and runoff producing rain fall.  This course will cover water catchment and management strategies including:  permeable paving, bioswales, rain gardens, infiltration, and rain barrels.


April 16, 2016 – Sustainable Garden Design
Designing sustainable landscapes is all about thinking long term.  This course will look at rules of thumb for sustainable garden design, including:  plant spacing, maintenance considerations and strategies, troubleshooting designs, diseases/pests, editing, and retrofitting existing sprinklers to drip.
