Gardens of the World, Fall 2014

Drought Tolerant Maintenance Workshop and Community Maintenance Day

Thank you to La Canada Valley Beautiful, the La Canada community, and attendees who came from as far as Seal Beach for a wonderful, productive workshop!  Our bi-annual drought tolerant maintenance workshop left the La Canada Public Library’s Gardens of the World demonstration gardens in tip-top shape, whether we are on the verge of a heavy rainy season or heading into continuing to manage desiccating drought. The five drought tolerant Gardens represent the Los Angeles climate-compatible regions of the world, highlighting natives from Australia, California, Chile, the Mediterranean Basin, and South Africa.  The Gardens need only bi-annual maintenance to maintain their vibrant, lush appeal.  The next opportunity to join La Canada Valley Beautiful and FormLA Landscaping in maintaining the gardens will be in May 2014.

Check FormLA Events for the next chance to join us – our Spring 2015 maintenance day will be Saturday, April 25th.
