LA’s First Urban Fruit Trail

FormLA Teams Support Youth in Replanting Fruit Trees and Hope

In May of 2014, the Heart of Los Angeles (HOLA) and Fallen Fruit broke ground on a MacArthur Park area beautification project to feed and inspire the surrounding community.  Youth attending HOLA planted 30 dwarf fruit trees, creating the first Los Angeles urban fruit trail from Vermont to Alvarado.  Soon after the youth completed the initial planting, vandals destroyed their work, breaking and uprooting trees.

FormLA Landscaping teams are working with HOLA youth to ensure the project’s success.  If you’d like to join us in supporting the vision and hopes and HOLA youth, you can make donations to HOLA, volunteer with planting, or simply enjoy and tell your friends about the urban fruit trail!
