Garden for Health, Resilience
Not only is LA’s authentic beauty critical to our ecological resilience, it is a game changer when it comes to our health, wellbeing and social resilience. To state the obvious, those benefits are not easily, let alone equally, accessible to all Angelenos.
Thanks to Thomas Safran and Associates, we’ve had the honor of bringing nature a bit closer to seniors without homes in Willowbrook. KTLA’s Gale Anderson interviewed Thomas Safran and Associates’ Jordan Pynes in the residents’ garden of the 150 unit apartment building about the vision for the project.

20 Years + Impact
In the last 20 years, we’ve added nearly 1.5 million square feet of authentic, native habitat to LA and removed about 200,000 square feet of turf. As a result, each year, we now save LA well over 10 million gallons of water, reduce air pollution equivalent to a year of commutes for 59 cars, save our clients’ approximately $700,000 a year in lawn care, and keep 2400 lbs of toxic chemical fertilizers out of our watershed.
10 Fire Wise Qualities
With so much misinformation about fires and our landscapes out there, we think it is critical for Angelenos, and California more broadly, to understand the qualities of a fire-wise, home-protective landscape.
